A New Holiday Is Going Down the Drain!

Today is a holiday. Did you forget it? Maybe you didn’t even know, but it is worthy of note. And if you really understand it, it’s worthy of celebration. This is the first year that this holiday has been officially recognized by the UN. What is it? Today is World Toilet Day. We nearly forgot about it until our friends at the Water Center at the University of Oklahoma reminded us about it and helped us remember why it is so important. Typhoon Yolanda Relief

UPDATE – FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6 – 3PM CST Donate Now On November 7th, 2013 the strongest typhoon ever recorded struck the islands of the Philippines. Super Typhoon Haiyan (called Yolanda in the Philippines) destroyed millions of homes and killed more than 5,200 people with sustained winds comparable to an F3 tornado. Yolanda hit very close to home for CRF. When Bread for a Hungry World merged with CRF earlier this year, we inherited a child sponsorship program on the island of Cebu called Arapal Children’s Home.
