2015 Year End Letter

2015 was a great year!  If you haven’t read our Annual Report yet, you can find it here. Here is a year end letter from our President Milton Jones. ____________________________________________________ When it is all said and done, CRF is all about the children. We sponsor children in about 20 different countries and help in nearly 30 countries. We have 86 different CRF works around the world. We sponsor 6,805 children in a full-time capacity but help many thousand more through feeding, disaster relief and providing education. By the time we reached 2015, bringing clean water became one of the major ministries of CRF. This has happened because of the incredibly generous gift of a rig to drill deep wells, matching… Read more »

Small Beginnings

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. – Zechariah 4:10 NLT – Isn’t that the Christmas story? A small beginning. It was a baby in a manger. People despised the humble start of the Christ child. Others ignored it as insignificant. Others still wanted to stop the influence of this God in flesh because it was not the manner in which a King would present Himself. But the Lord wasn’t finished with the small beginning. Indeed, He was rejoicing to see the work begin. I recently heard Phoebe Miriam give her testimony. She couldn’t stop quoting this verse. Phoebe quit using her last name because of the abuse she received from her… Read more »

Too Special to Open

I never could eat my chocolate Easter bunny. It was just too special. I would usually leave it in the box. So I knew exactly how Isaac Silva felt. Christian Toruno and Rafael Romero took me to the community around our CRF school called “Las Maripositas” near Leon, Nicaragua. That’s where I met one of our sponsored children — Isaac Silva. Upon meeting him, he quickly ran inside his little house and brought back his Christmas present. He was so proud of it and honored to show it to me. But it was still in the box. Why? It was so special he simply couldn’t open it. Esteban Valle, our director there, had bought Isaac a toy truck. What a great… Read more »

We Plant Churches Too!

As I finished speaking at a church the other day, someone came up to me and said, “And you plant churches too?” Yes, we do. When I speak, I guess I sometimes forget to mention all the churches we plant. Most everyone knows CRF is a relief organization. We help destitute children, and we drill wells where there is no water. But we are very holistic and don’t want people to miss out on the gospel. Our greatest desire is for our sponsored children to grow up loving Jesus. I tell so many stories about Francis Bii and his dynamic work with children in Eldoret, Kenya. But did you know that his ministry has planted over 70 churches in the… Read more »

Out of the Dustbin

You know what sponsorship means to you. But what does it mean to a sponsored child? Do they truly understand what you are doing? Are they grateful? I recently heard Loureen, a sponsored child in Kenya, express what sponsorship did for her. I think it will make you even more glad to be a sponsor! – Milton Jones, CRF President   Today is a wonderful day in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for sponsoring me. I came from the dustbin. When I was first taken to the orphanage in 2002, I got my sponsor. You gave me a school uniform. You paid my school fees. If it wasn’t for you, I don’t know where I would… Read more »
