Singing in the… Desert?

As we were driving a Land Cruiser through one of the most remote deserts on earth, we spied a group of guys walking across the parched ground. We immediately wondered who they were. We thought that we should drive over to check them out—but then again—these men could be dangerous. But we went over anyway. As we got closer to them, they spread out and circled our car. Then they marched around it. It was pretty scary. As you can see in this picture, these weren’t the kind of people I saw walking around in Amarillo,Texas. It also didn’t help that they were carrying spears.

We Plant Churches Too!

As I finished speaking at a church the other day, someone came up to me and said, “And you plant churches too?” Yes, we do. When I speak, I guess I sometimes forget to mention all the churches we plant. Most everyone knows CRF is a relief organization. We help destitute children, and we drill wells where there is no water. But we are very holistic and don’t want people to miss out on the gospel. Our greatest desire is for our sponsored children to grow up loving Jesus. I tell so many stories about Francis Bii and his dynamic work with children in Eldoret, Kenya. But did you know that his ministry has planted over 70 churches in the… Read more »

The Impact of Clean Water

We have been overwhelmed by the prayers and support of our donors to have helped us drill more than 75 wells in Kenya. You have enabled us to bring clean water and the Living Water to those in desperate need! As you read the following stories of impact, join with us in thankfulness for what God has already done and in prayer for the millions more who still lack access to clean water. Miton The 1000+ Masai people in this area have not had access to clean water ever since their hand dug wells dried up more than 10 years ago.  They were walking many miles for water and every attempt to dig for more water was unsuccessful. Once we… Read more »

What I Needed Was Always Here

Luke was his name. He was an elder of a tribe in Barwessa. He had asked me to sit down with him and have some tea. I thought it might be safe — especially since we had just drilled for some clean water. Luke had some things on his mind. He wanted to have a little talk. I first knew of the dilemma of Barwessa the day I heard that kids there were eating rats. They had no other food because they had no water. It was a big famine. Only the rats were surviving. CRF drilled six water wells in Barwessa. Then we planted a church. And we started a school. Things were indeed looking up. Luke wanted to… Read more »

World Water Day

Every year in March, the UN hosts World Water Day. It’s a day to celebrate water. It’s a day to make a difference for the members of the global population who suffer from water related issues. And it’s a day to prepare for how we manage water in the future. Thanks to the provision of God and the support of our donors, CRF has been able to provide clean water wells to tens of thousands of people over the last few years. Our drilling rig in Kenya averages a new well every week. And wherever we provide clean water we also preach the Living Water: Jesus Christ. We are humbled that God is using CRF for such an important work…. Read more »
