It hasn’t rained in six years in parts of Turkana, Kenya. So women and children are carrying jars on their heads after traveling miles just to get water. Did you know that women and children carrying water like this have to make this walk twice a day. On an average, it is a four-hour walk to get water. It is their only choice. May 23, 2013 It’s been a couple days since the terrible disaster in Moore, OK. Here is an update on what CRF is doing. We have partnered with the Disaster Response Team (DRT) for our on-the-ground effort. The team has been in Moore since day one and is busy bringing help and hope to the hardest hit areas in Moore by providing spiritual, emotional and physical care. CRF is partnering with DRT to bring relief to the people hurt by the devastating hurricane that hit the Northeast. Our outreach will take place in Monmouth, New Jersey and Union Beach, New Jersey. To help with the devastation a Semi Tool Trailer is being set up to furnish all the tools and supplies needed to rebuild homes that were damaged or destroyed. A Mobile Kitchen will also be located in the area to give food to those who cannot currently cook or have meals at their houses. We thank God that Hurricane Isaac has not been as catastrophic as Hurricane Katrina, but many people have still lost their homes and possessions in this disaster. We are continuing to partner with Disaster ResponseTeam to provide emergency food and care to those affected.
