2014 Year End Letter – Milton Jones

2014 was a great year!  If you haven’t read our Annual Report yet, you can find it here. Here is a year end letter from our President Milton Jones. ____________________________________________________ When I think of 2014, I will always remember it as the year of WATER for CRF. We have drilled wells in the past, but last year was different. We were so graciously given a rig in 2013. But 2014 is the year we truly became a full-fledged water ministry. In fact, our water ministry has a name—Hope Water International. During this last year, we drilled nearly a well a week. Over 40 wells were drilled in areas of the Horn of Africa where it hadn’t rained in around seven… Read more »

4 Million New AIDS Orphans

Sponsor an AIDS Orphan Today! “Over Medicalized.” That’s what they are calling the response to the current AIDS pandemic. At the 19th International AIDS Conference, it was reported that we had an “unintended catastrophe.” If you have read my responses to the HIV/AIDS crisis, you have certainly heard of my elation at the use of Anti-retrovirals in the treatment of HIV in order to prevent the virus from turning into AIDS. One of the most successful parts of this medical treatment is a program called PMTCT (Prevent-Mother-To-Child-Transmission). This program has been so successful that over 95% of the babies born to mothers with HIV/AIDS have not contracted the virus. This has been one of the most impressive breakthroughs in the… Read more »

‘Christmas will be Different’

Christian Relief Fund started a new program in Kimilili, Kenya this past July. Milton had heard about Kimilili and visited this impoverished area in the spring, and wanted to bring help. He found a small school with a bunch of orphans. These children had lost a parent or both parents to either HIV/AIDS or through tribal conflict. Their school was made from sticks, stones and mud, and was falling apart. The latrine was collapsing, and there seemed to be no end to the poverty they faced.

Goat Day in Lurare!

Want an easy way to make someone smile? Give them a gift! This past weekend our sponsored kids and staff at the Lurare Primary School were able to smile big as each received a goat as a gift from some very special CRF donors. The Lurare Primary School is one of our newest programs in Kenya. We started sponsoring orphan children there just this summer. The school is located in Kimilili, Kenya, in the Northern Province.  The program is run by the husband and wife team of Samson and Ruth Wangila. The community has been devastated by AIDS and tribal warfare. While we have quickly found sponsors for 12 children, we still have 32 orphans in the school who need… Read more »
