We have drilled wells in the past, but last year was different. We were so graciously given a rig in 2013. But 2014 is the year we truly became a full-fledged water ministry. What do you do with the rest of your life? If you are 67, it’s about time to rest and retire—unless you are Kenneth Vaughn. Then, it is time to go to Africa. Certainly, all of us want to end well. And that is why we need to pay attention to the life of Kenneth Vaughn.
The Sharks are ALIVE and WELL! A popular doowop singing group from Amarillo, Texas is making the rounds again in Amarillo, Dallas and soon to be Midland. They are an entertaining a cappella group full of fun, nostalgia, and harmony. Back in the day, they even opened up for Bill Cosby. The Sharks are singing again to prove they are ALIVE and helping CRF by drilling water WELLs. If you get a chance, go listen to them or do what they are doing—creatively doing something to bring water to people in a famine. To some people he is known as the guy who picked the flavors for Starbucks Coffee. To others, he is the one who invented the McGriddle. But at CRF, we will always know Larry Wu as the one who loves children. Over the last few years, Larry has been serving as CRF’s Vice President of Field Operations and especially focusing on Africa. Now he is going back to Seattle to pursue some of his other interests. Larry expressed to me how excited he was to be back in the same city with his family. Wow, it’s beautiful! Yes, our CRF building has been remodeled. And it is not only gorgeous—it has a great new purpose. If you remember, a truck drove through our building last year and forced us to remodel. And through the ingenious design of architect Charles Lynch and builder Frank Alfonzo, a masterpiece has been created. Our new CRF building reflects an international look to help people experience the way that we help children around the world. In fact, it is our goal to bring school children from the Panhandle of Texas into our building to teach them about poverty and life in the developing world.
