Join Us on a Life Changing Mission Trip
Would you like to go on a mission trip? Christian Relief Fund has a lot of options and would love for you to join us on one of our short-term mission efforts.
Some people argue that it is better to send money to the mission field rather than actually go. I understand this viewpoint. But rarely do people make a choice not to go and actually send money. If you want to send money instead of making a trip, we are glad to apply it in good place.
However, most people who become long-term missionaries or who devote themselves to a lifetime of caring for the needy in developing countries, get their start on a short-term mission trip.
I will never forget my first short-term mission trip to Uganda and Kenya. After the trip, my entire life changed. The trip forged the beginning of what I now do in helping children around the world.
Another good thing that happens on one of our trips is that you can actually see the child you sponsor. This too will be life changing as you see the transformation you have made in your child’s life. I realize that some other sponsorship organizations won’t let you visit your child, but we encourage it. We have nothing to hide. If you are ever skeptical about what we do—come check it out. I think you will be very pleased.
There are a couple of ways to get involved in one of our mission trips. First of all, you can join us on one that we have already scheduled. If it is just you or you have a small group, this is a good way to take a mission trip. However, if you have a bigger group, we can plan a trip just for your group. We can accommodate the place and the time that best suits you and your group.
Christian Relief Fund has many programs around the world. All of them are great, but some of them are better for mission trips. We want your mission trip to be an incredible experience, so we try to get you to a place where our local team can communicate with you and show you a lot of hospitality. We also take into account how much your group can afford to pay for a trip. If you go to Kenya, it will cost a few thousand dollars. If you go to Mexico, it might only cost a few hundred dollars.
Here is something interesting that I learned in Kenya. When a person travels a long way to see someone, it means the person who is visited is very important. In fact, the longer the trip to see someone the greater honor is shown to the one visited. You can see how long journeys on mission trips can really encourage the locals on the mission field—especially the children.
I find that on a mission trip God reveals how He wants you to be involved in the mission effort. He may want you to put in some hard work there. He may want you to give money or raise money. He may want you to be an encourager who raises the self-esteem of the children there. In other words, mission trips can give you direction on how God wants to use your life.
On the inside of this newsletter, you can observe some examples of places where you can join us on a life changing mission trip. We hope to see you soon!
