Water on the Mountain
If you’ve followed CRF for any time at all, you probably know that we drill a lot of water wells. In fact, besides sponsoring children, it’s one of the main things we do!
Eight years ago we were blessed with the gift of a drilling rig. Since then, our dedicated team has been able to drill nearly 550 wells! We estimate that 400,000 people drink clean water from those wells every single day. None of this would have been possible without God’s grace and your ongoing support.

But what do we do when drilling a well is not possible or is not the best solution? We get creative!
One recent example is on Mt. Elgon, a place that has been dramatically impacted by the recent coronavirus lockdown after years of tribal fighting. Even if we could have gotten our drilling rig up the treacherous mountain road, the geology in this area is much too difficult to drill effectively.
But after putting our heads together with local leaders, we were able to find a local spring that we could develop into a full-blown water system that could provide enough water for hundreds of people!

Our team began by constructing a holding tank around the natural water source to protect it from contamination. Then we installed piping and a solar pump to bring water all the way up to the top of the mountain where it could be distributed to our school and church as well as the larger community.
Life has been tough on Mt. Elgon, but things are changing for the better! As one of our partners, Madame Monoo, said, “Water is flowing and lives are changing 24/7!”
Clean water changes lives. Whether it is through a drilled well, a water filter or a project like this one on Mt. Elgon, every drop of clean water helps hope grow. We want to give a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has donated to bring clean water to people who are thirsty.

Keep an eye out in the next few months for some exciting news about what is next for our water projects!
“And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
– Matthew 10:42
